WhatsApp Chat Lock Feature: What Is It?
The WhatsApp Chat Lock security feature is designed to keep all personal chats private without directly using any biometric authentication feature such as PIN, Password, Face, and fingerprint unlock. With this feature, all the personal chats will be moved to a private safe (separate folder) which can only be accessed using the device password.
Once the chats are moved to the chat lock folder all the content in the chat including text messages and media files including images and videos. Once the chats are moved all the content will be hidden automatically. This new privacy feature is quite handy for users who need to keep all their personal chats secure from getting into wrong hands.
WhatsApp is rolling out the Chat Lock feature as an OTA update in a phased manner and it should be available to all the respective units going forward. Users can also check if there is any update pending manually to get access to the Chat Lock feature on WhatsApp.
