WhatsApp’s Message Drafts Features
- Automatic Message Saving: If you start typing a message but don’t send it, WhatsApp will now automatically save it as a draft. This solves the problem of accidentally losing a half-typed message if you leave the app or get distracted.
- Visible Draft Tag: Unfinished messages are clearly marked with a bright green Draft indicator. This tag is easy to spot, making it clear which messages are incomplete.
- Prioritized Chat Positioning: Chats containing draft messages will move to the top of your chat list. This ensures that incomplete messages stay visible, acting as a reminder to finish and send them without getting buried in ongoing conversations.
- Improved Reliability Over Manual Notes: In the past, some users wrote longer messages using the Notes app on their device, then copied them into WhatsApp when they were ready. With this feature, you no longer need to switch to another app as WhatsApp securely saves all drafts directly in the chat.
Why The Feature Matters
A noteworthy addition to WhatsApp is the new Message Drafts feature. For anyone who might start a message but get stopped, this is helpful. The platform improves user experience and facilitates more smooth conversations by removing the need to jump between apps or worry about drafts disappearing.
