WhatsApp has been improving the messaging experience by adding different set of features to its Android and iOS mobile app. The Meta-owned messaging platform has also been serving Windows and Mac users the same level of premium messaging experience as the mobile version. Both WhatsApp web (Windows and Mac) and mobile version offer almost identical tools and features for messaging. Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg has officially announced the arrival of new native app for Mac OS that will allow direct video and audio calling. This new app for MacOS has been redesigned as per the brand and will be allowing easy and a better audio and video calling experience on a large screen. Notably, WhatsApp video calling is one of the most popular feature that is accessed daily by numerous Android/iOS users globally.

Off late, WhatsApp has been working on delivering the same rich user experience to the web users. The new video/audio calling app seems like a move towards the same. Besides standard one-on-one video chats, the new WhatsApp app for Mac will also allow users to make video calls tp groups. However, there is a limit to the number of users one can add to a group video call. Only up to eight users can be added each time for a group video call while using the native WhatsApp app for Mac.
As for the audio calls, the new app will allow users to make group audio call as well. The limit set for the audio calls is up to 32 people. The remaining functionality remains the same as the mobile version. Using the native WhatsApp Mac app, users will get the option to view the entire call log for both video/audio calls. This intuitive app is expected to enhance the video/audio calling experience for Mac PC/laptop ussers.
