The first Xiaomi electric vehicle has been constantly been a part of the rumor mill since the last few years and more details have been pouring in. The latest leak has revealed some additional information on the upcoming Xiaomi electric car’s design and variants. Below are the details”
Xiaomi EV Electric Car Leak: Mid-Sized Sedan In Two Models
The Xiaomi EV electric car will be launched in two different variants. According to a Chinese website, Jiemian.com, Xiaomi will introduce the 400V and 800V model. The former is codenamed Modena and will be an affordable variant. Whereas, the latter is codenamed Le Mans and is said to be a premium version of the electric car.
The fresh leak doesn’t clarify the motor specs or the range and other details. However, the previous leaks have indicated the presence of a 260kW motor inside the first Xiaomi Electric car. It is not clear if this motor will be driving just the Xiaomi EV 400V or the 800V or both. We are expecting sone details post the Auto Expo 2023 event. This is just a speculation, it could also take a while for more details to emerge.
Furthermore, the latest leak has hinted the Xiaomi 400V EV will be powered by a BYD LifePO4 battery setup. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 800V will be equipped with a CATL Kirin battery module. The charging speeds and riding range is unspecified as of now.
In addition to the battery setup, the first range of electric vehicles from Xiaomi will be using Qualcomm and Nvidia Orin X next-gen smart chipsets. That said, past leaks have also indicated up to three different motor options for the premium version of the Xiaomi Electric car, i.e., the 800V or the Le Mans model.
Xiaomi 400V, 800V EV Electric Car Price, Expected India Launch
The expected arrival of the Xiaomi EV electric car is by 2025. However, Xiaomi is yet to give a confirmation on this same. The first Xiaomi electric car is said to come in the 260,000 yuan to 350,000 yuan price range.
