The LG Gram 16 has been built entirely out of magnesium alloys with a  very sharp and clean design offering a rough texture to the materials and enhanced durability. The laptop offers excellent grip and fends off most of the smudges and scratches fairly well. The laptop is surprisingly lightweight for the size it offers which you’ll immediately be able to tell when you pick it up. It weighs in at just 1.2 Kilograms. The screen on this laptop goes back only up to 150 degrees. The laptop is well anchored on a desk because of its small and very grippy rubber feet on the D Panel. The edges and corners are mildly blunted but the very slim profile of this laptop makes it very easy to handle with the utmost convenience.

The LG Gram 16 features Intel Tiger Lake Core i7-1165G7 processor which is really fast and gets the job done offering fast performance for content creation, work productivity, games, and web streaming. 16 GB of LPDDR4-4266 memory with a fast 1 TB SK Hynix SSD which enhances the overall bootup speed and all the functions. The Intel Iris Xe graphics chip is embedded within the Intel processor.

The design of the laptop is not very ideal for heat dissipation and causes the bezel and the screen area around it to heat up reaching high temperatures. This makes the laptop not very suitable for demanding games.

The daily use and multitasking works perfectly fine with the fans keeping idle with light use and pleasant internal and external temperatures.

There’s a large 80Wh battery placed inside the LG Gram 16, which is good for this sort of laptop. LG has paired the laptop with a compact lightweight 65W charger that plugs in via USB-C. The charger has a dual-piece design along with long cables. A full charge will take around 3 hours which is a bit of a let-down. The battery lasts up to 22 hours with a single charge.

The 16:10 screen has been designed to increase productivity offering a full grasp of more information on a page and 11% more screen real estate compared to the 16:9 ratio. The 4-way slim bezel will surely provide an immersive experience. The WQXGA (2560×1600) display is going to provide you with clear and vivid colours, featuring twice the resolution of Full HD. All this enables you to perform tasks efficiently and more effectively such as typing, retouching, or even coding. The display gets a glossy finish which makes it difficult to operate in the light due to the reflections and glaring so you will have to operate the laptop in the shade.

The laptop features two USB 3.0 ports on the right and one on the left. You will find the HDMI port and a USB 3.0 port on the left. Comes equipped with a USB 3.2 Gen1 Type C port and a micro SD card reader along with a 3.5mm audio jack combo. These ports prove to be more than adequate for daily use.

The keyboard that the LG Gram offers is a full-size keyboard with properly sized and spaced keys and a narrow NumPad section which is paired with a large glass click-pad. The keys offer limited stroke depth and a bit of shallow feedback. The chassis flexes a bit when you will press the keys in the middle of the deck and the keyboard is a bit louder which is a bit annoying. The keyboard is backlit and offers bright and uniform illumination. For the trackpad, LG offers a large glass surface with built-in precision drivers. This has been positioned at the centre on the laptop’s chassis, and not aligned to the left under the Space key which is quite appreciable. The click-pad is solid, smooth and will not rattle with taps.

For a fingerprint sensor, you have been provided with a fingerprint sensor that is integrated with the power button.

Audio in the LG Gram is handled by a set of stereo speakers which are placed on the underside. Due to their placement, they might get muffled when placed on soft surfaces like blankets. The audio quality is not very good but average and they greatly lack the bass. You’ll have to use headphones if you care about sound quality.
