The new iPhone 6 design was a major talking point. Apple changed its iconic design of flat edges and big bezels. Instead, the iPhone 6 introduced a more curved and smooth design that was easier to hold. Though many people didn’t like the design change, especially the antenna lines on the back of the phone, this was one of the highest selling iPhones ever. The power button is no longer at the top of the phone but to the right, as it is on most phones. This is much easier to access. As with all Apple phones, all the buttons feel perfectly clicky and have great build.

Overall, the phone is about as premium as it gets and Apple’s build quality will always be one of the best. The iPhone 6 has a much larger display than previous iPhones with a 4.7-inch display. There is also a physical mute button that can be useful for many.

Cameras on the Apple iPhones are known to feature among the best. The 8MP camera can take some amazing pictures that put much higher resolution cameras to shame, thanks to Apple’s image processing software. The iPhone 6 cameras come with features like Autofocus with Focus Pixels, True Tone flash, auto image stabilisation, face detection, five-element lens and hybrid IR filter. The camera can shoot HD videos in 1080p at 30 or 60fps. The camera can also shoot slo-mo videos at 120fps or 240fps and the results look great. You can even shoot time-lapse videos with stabilisation and click still photos while shooting a video.

The selfie camera is 1.2MP only but takes amazingly good selfies. The iPhone front camera is every selfie enthusiast’s favourite and this is for good reason. Closeups on the iPhone 6 camera are brilliant and colours are accurate and not washed out or artificial. With compromised lighting conditions as well, the iPhone managed to take decent pictures. All of this is achieved with only one rear camera, which can only be managed by Apple.

The iPhone 6 is powered by the A8 chip which has 64-bit architecture. The M8 motion coprocessor also adds to the unparalleled experience of an Apple iPhone. It helps to save battery life by detecting any activity around the phone and letting the phone sleep if there is no movement. While the iPhone 6 screen is good, the LCD display certainly feels a little underwhelming. Phones have gotten a lot brighter and better in terms of the screen and the iPhone 6 doesn’t have the brightest or best screen.

The 1GB of RAM also seems insufficient compared to phones that are contemporaries of the iPhone 6. The storage isn’t expandable either. The iPhone 6 comes with storage options like 16GB. 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. Though the iPhone manages to keep up with tasks due to great RAM management, the lack of storage causes issues like having to upgrade to a phone with greater storage.

However, part of the charm of using an iPhone is the iOS. The version of iOS on the iPhone 6 is iOS 8 that has multiple new upgrades, both big and small. There are several app extensions and many new and innovative changes can be made to your iPhone with the new OS.

It is common knowledge that iPhones come with tiny batteries. Yet, due to excellent RAM management, the battery lasts for hours. The iPhone 6 battery can easily last for 8 hours on a single charge.

When the phone launched, the iPhone 6 price started from INR 53,500. This was extremely high but people still didn’t hesitate to buy the phone. Over time, the phone saw its price reduced on websites like Amazon and Flipkart. At present the iPhone 6 can still be bought from Amazon and Flipkart for under 20k but it isn’t advisable to do so.
