Infinix Note 11

The design of Infinix smartphones has always been the best feature, and the Infinix Note 11 is no exception. The phone has a flat-edged design and a matte-gradient finish on the back panel, which is a nice change from the usual fingerprint-magnet gloss back panels. We also like flat-edged designs because they are less likely to have accidental touches and provide a more secure grip on the device. The smartphone's back panel features a rectangular rear camera module with three lenses: a large one on top and two small lenses placed horizontally below the large lens.

There is a waterdrop style notch upfront, as well as a slight chin - a safe design that will appeal to the majority of users. It's also very light, which is fantastic. One design flaw, at least on the unit we received, is that the power button must be pressed slightly firmly in order to unlock the smartphone if fingerprint unlock is not enabled.

In terms of performance, the Infinix Note 11 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 processor with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone's processor is adequate for daily use and gaming sessions, and it shows no signs of slowing down. When doing something that requires a little more effort, such as editing an Instagram Reel, the Infinix Note 11 struggles. However, we have seen flagship smartphones with Snapdragon 888 SoC and 12GB of RAM struggle with Reel editing, so this is not a major issue. During my brief time with the Infinix Note 11, the smartphone never overheated, and there were no screen freezes or ghost touches. However, there are some useful features, such as X Hide, which allows users to hide their banking and financial apps, and X Clone, which duplicates apps. Very convenient if you have two phone numbers and use WhatsApp on both of them, eliminating the need to carry a second smartphone.

The smartphone struggles the most with software. The notification panel and quick settings menu are distinct; dragging down the notification bar from the left brings up notifications, whereas dragging down from the right brings up quick settings. This almost always made me pause before opening the notifications or quick settings. The software is riddled with bloatware apps, and in the early days, every swipe to the deck (right swipe from the home screen) or even the notifications panel prompts for permissions, making the process unnecessarily time-consuming. Furthermore, gestures are imprecise. If you hold down a side swipe to go back, it will open the dock, which will show you suggested apps as well as controls for screenshots and likes. 

According to the company, one of the most significant changes is in the display. However, the difference between this AMOLED panel and the previous LCD display is not significant. Yes, the color and detail are more accurate and sharper thanks to the AMOLED panel, but this isn't as noticeable as a high refresh rate display, which the Infinix Note 11 lacks. To be clear, this is not a bad performance. It's great for watching videos and playing games, and the animations are smooth and precise. The AMOLED panel corrects previous issues I'd had with Infinix displays, such as pixelation where it shouldn't be and less vibrant colors.

The Infinix Note 11 is an excellent smartphone. It is well-designed, performs well, and has an average camera that is adequate for daily use and social media posting. The smartphone is a good budget option for mobile gamers because it has an AMOLED display and a large battery that can easily last a couple of gaming sessions. However, not much has changed in terms of the overall user experience with XOS 10. While the company has addressed some of the issues in the past, despite quirky features and improved privacy, it is still one of the most complicated and bloatware-heavy Android skins available. All in all this smartphone is a user-friendly experience altogether. With its new wave in the smartphone industry Infinix Note 11 will definitely bring about a striking change in the smartphone industry.
