The Samsung Galaxy A22 boasts of a top-gen MediaTek designed SoC, the Mediatek Dimensity 700U on the 5G variant, and the MediaTek Helio G80 on the 4G variant. Both the So configurations offer phenomenal performance. The MediaTek Dimensity and Helio SoCs are put in to offer commendable performance to both normal users and occasional gamers. The Samsung Galaxy A22 handles like a beauty while playing some AAA games too and daily usage is also a seamless experience.

Along with a powerful Soc, the Samsung Galaxy A22 comes with either 4 GB, 6 GB, or 8 GB RAM options, the last of which is not available for the 4G variant. The RAM is optimized to work with SoC offering an efficient performance. This combination along with the octa-core SoCs offers speeds of up to 2.0 GHz.

The Samsung Galaxy A22 screen comes in two types. For the 5G variant, you get a 6.6 inches Full HD+ display. And for the 4G variant comes with a 6.4 inches Super AMOLED display. Clearly, the 5G variant has a lower quality screen because Samsung wanted to keep the price down. Both screens support Full HD and although there is a noticeable difference, the picture quality on both screens is phenomenal. The multi-touch display comes in the form of a waterdrop notch design that houses the front camera, a constant feature in all of Samsung’s latest.

But a common thing on both the variant is the 90 Hz refresh rate. The Samsung Galaxy A22 boasts a 90 Hz refresh and also has AI support for making slow frame videos seem fluid. Color reproduction is absolutely brilliant. The software works seamlessly with top AAA games and both variants allow full leveraging of the 90 Hz refresh rate.

The Samsung Galaxy A22 does a good job in the battery segment with an above-average battery size of 5000 mAh. The Samsung Galaxy A22 battery is above average compared to its competitors in the market. The good news for the users is that the Samsung Galaxy A22 can stay the entire day on one full charge. But the makers at Samsung went a step ahead to include fast charging capabilities too with both the variants. Both the 5G and the 4G variant comes with Samsung’s proprietary fast charging capabilities. You may face a bit of overheating issues when using the phone while it's charging but the fast charging is limited to 15W so no harm is posed to the battery. Nevertheless, normal usage of the phone along with occasional gaming will not prevent the Samsung Galaxy A22 from staying with you the whole day.

Samsung provides different camera setups with the 4G and the 5G variant. The 4G variant comes with a quad AI camera setup that includes a 48 MP wide-angle main snapper that supports Optical Image Stabilisation, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2 MP Macro lens, and a 2 MP depth sensor, all optimized to work seamlessly. With the 5G variant, you get a triple camera setup that includes a 48MP wide snapper with a 5 MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2 MP depth sensor. Again the downgrading of the camera module can be attributed to keeping the price low for a future-proof phone. Capturing in the low light with either of the variants is also not an issue. While the 5G variant does not have Optical Image Stabilisation it does support 1115p video recording, a good feature to have. The front snapper is a 13 MP snapper for the 4G variant while the 5G variant sports an 8 MP front snapper.

The Samsung Galaxy A22 comes in a modest and minimalistic design. It is designed for performance and the looks of it clearly say so. You get a plastic frame and plastic body on both variants, and that choice is clearly to keep the voice in check. Both the variant weigh in at around 205g which is a bit on the heavier side. With the 5G variant, you get internal storage options of 64 GB and 128 GB. And with the 4G variant, you get 64 GB internal storage.
