Vivo T1 5G

The Vivo T1 5G features a new design language that features flat sides all around. This phone is easy to hold, and the rounded corners don't dig into your palms. Vivo made the T1 5G thin enough at 8.25mm and light enough at 187g. It has a large display with a dewdrop notch, which looks dated in comparison to other phones in this price range that has hole-punch displays. It has thin bezels on the sides and a thicker chin.

The plastic frame of the T1 5G houses the power and volume buttons on the right. The fingerprint scanner has been integrated into the power button by Vivo, making it simple to unlock this phone. The left side is empty, while the top houses the SIM tray and secondary microphone. The T1 5G has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, a loudspeaker, and a primary microphone on the bottom.

Vivo has completely flattened the back. The camera module is located in the upper left corner and does not protrude significantly. I had the Vivo T1 5G in the Rainbow Fantasy color, which was eye-catching. When the phone was moved, the sparkly iridescent finish changed color. This did a good job of hiding fingerprints, but you also get a clear case in the box.

The back of the Vivo T1 5G is equipped with a triple camera system. It has a primary camera with 50 MP, a macro camera with 2 MP, and a depth sensor with 2 megapixels. It has a 16-megapixel selfie camera. The camera app is straightforward and simple to use. Swiping allows you to quickly switch between shooting modes. The macro camera toggle is easy to overlook, and making it a shooting mode would have been preferable.Vivo claims to have a Super Night mode for low-light photography as well as Portrait Styles, which are filters that can be applied while taking a portrait photograph. Surprisingly, these features are absent from the base 4GB variant. It also lacks dual camera bokeh and instead relies on a single camera.

The Vivo T1 took detailed photos in daylight. The output from the primary camera had good colors, and text at a distance was also legible. However, it struggled to correctly set exposure in brighter scenes. The Vivo T1 5G lacks an ultra-wide-angle camera, which is a feature found on the majority of competing phones. Close-up photos were good, but those taken in direct sunlight had boosted colors. Portraits had good edge detection, but this phone struggled at times to distinguish the subject from the background. The macro camera allowed me to get close to objects and capture fine details.

In our experience, the Vivo T1 5G was quick and showed no signs of slowing down. For this review, I had the 8GB RAM variant, and the 4GB RAM expansion option was enabled by default. The applications loaded quickly. Although the single bottom-firing speaker was loud, a stereo setup is always preferable. The side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the Vivo phone was accurate and only required a single tap to unlock the device. During the review period, face recognition also worked reliably.When we launched Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), the graphics and frame rate settings were set to "HD" and "high," respectively. It was playable at these settings, and there was no stuttering during gameplay. After 15 minutes, I noticed a 3% drop in battery level, which is acceptable.

The battery life on the Vivo T1 5G was adequate, lasting about two days with light to medium usage. The phone lasted 18 hours and 48 minutes in our HD video loop test. The idle battery drain was extremely low, allowing this smartphone to avoid needing to be charged on a regular basis. There is support for 18W fast charging, which is less than the competition currently provides.

The Vivo T1 5G is the first smartphone in the new T-series aimed at buyers in Generation Z. Vivo has prioritised desirable specifications like a powerful SoC, 5G, a 120Hz refresh rate display, and a large battery. However, in order to deliver these at a low price, some compromises have been made, such as the dated dewdrop notch, limited 5G band support, no ultra-wide-angle camera, and only 18W charging. The Vivo T1 5G's entry-level 4GB RAM variant also lacks some camera features that prospective buyers should be aware of.
