Vivo Y12G

Vivo Y12G has a 6.5-inch LCD packed screen and a resolution of 720 X 1600 pixels. Along with which it has a pixel density of 270 PPI. The IPS technology used is one of the leading LCD technologies. The phone comes in two classic colors – black and blue. It has a fingerprint sensor and a multitouch. On the side there is the power button and the volume keys – charging port and headphone jack at the bottom. The phone weighs 190.50 g and can be a bit heavy to carry around. It is made of plastic and because of its dimensions – 159.43 x 76.77 x 8.92 it could be a little difficult to use.

The phone has the Android OS v11.0 as the operating system with a QUALCOMM snapdragon 439. It comes with 3GB memory which cannot be expanded and is a disadvantage to the phone at the same time the internal storage of 32 GB can be expanded with a microSD card. The phone supports 3G and 4G connectivity but not the 5G – which is disappointing as my users now have a 5G sim. It has a built-in GPS and an FM radio receiver. It has the dual sim capability which supports nano sim cards. Due to the phone’s firmware, it can be upgraded to a newer version of OS which has notably slowed down the phone and crashes the app as soon as you open it. The phone is not suitable for intense usage such as gaming. Users have reported the issues of crashing and lagging whilst playing high consumption games.

The phone has an excellent battery life because of its 5000 mAh battery capacity. The battery is low maintenance and no periodic charging is needed. Although the battery life is excellent and can last an entire day – chances are that there can be cases of slow charging. The phones come with a charger with micro-USB pin. The standby drain is about 1 -2 %. With minimum usage or careful usage, the battery can last an entire day and a half.

The front camera comes with 8 MP and autofocus which allows the camera to fine-tune the focus. The rear camera is 13 +2 MP with 4160 x 3120 px. The camera has ISO control with two shooting modes – continuous shooting and HDR mode. It can video record at 1920x1080 @ 30 fps both front and rear. The camera quality is decent but has much more scope for improvement. The images can be clear but chances are it might not be the best Vivo has to offer, we can see better camera quality in its other phones. The camera does not work the best in low light or during the night as it does not have the night mode.

The phone sensors measure physical quantities and transmit them to the application processor, it also comes with an accelerometer which measures the tilt and motion. The proximity sensor turns off the display when the user is holding the phone to the face or during a call – it prevents keypad press and unnecessary battery consumption. The fingerprint sensor is the best way to secure your privacy and your phone.

The Vivo Y21G  has a 5000mAh capacity. The budget phone comes with 18W fast charging technology.  The big battery size allows for a longer backup with typical usage. On the other hand, the fast charging speeds help with quick battery refuelling when required.
