The Vivo Y91 has a crisp design with a gradation coloured back. This looks attractive and gives the phone a premium feel though it is a budget phone. The display is 6.22 inches, and the screen-to-body ratio is 88.6%. This makes it great for viewing content. The front of the phone features a teardrop notch which houses the front camera. 

The fingerprint sensor is conveniently located at the back of the phone for easy access. The camera bump doesn’t protrude greatly, thereby minimising scratches and chances of damage. The phone can also rest on a table easily because the camera bump doesn’t disbalance it.

The Vivo Y91 has two dual cameras. The AI cameras are 13 MP (primary camera) and 2MP (secondary camera). The speciality of the back camera is that it can capture great bokeh mode shots. However, it struggles with macro photography. The front camera is 8MP, and the AI algorithm enhances beauty by detecting gender, skin texture, lighting, age and facial details. The result is great-looking selfies that look professional.

Vivo Y91 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chip. The octa-core processor can carry out daily functions, but it isn’t suited for very heavy activities like long hours of gaming. This Snapdragon processor is quite capable of handling multitasking. The OS is Funtouch OS 4.5 which is based on Android 8.1. This is a relatively older version of Android, and therefore, the performance is sufficiently smooth but not excellent.

The dual SIM phone has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Another drawback is that the charging port is Micro USB and not Type-C like most phones have today. There is both fingerprint and face unlock, so that is a good feature.  

The Vivo Y91 is powered by a 4030mAh battery. This battery will last a day on moderate usage. Based on the RAM and processor, the battery is adequate for the phone. On low usage, the phone can easily last two days on a single charge.

The budget phone comes in 2 combinations – 2GB RAM 32GB storage and 3 GB RAM 32 GB storage. This is extremely inadequate for smartphones nowadays. 4GB RAM phones are available in the market for INR 11,000 and lower. This was the average price of the phone and the RAM and storage could have been better. The lowest available price was INR 8,499 on Amazon, but it is presently out of stock.
