The iPad Air has the same A12 processor as the iPad mini and the most recent iPhones, and it performs similarly in benchmark tests, scoring 4,776 points on the single-core Geekbench, 11,501 on the multi-core Geekbench, and 24.42 on the most demanding Aztec graphics test from GFXBench. An iPad has good battery life. The Air lasts significantly longer than the fifth- and sixth-generation iPads, which lasted 5 hours and 40 minutes each while streaming a YouTube video with the screen at full brightness over Wi-Fi. At half brightness, that equates to about eleven hours of use. 

The tablet is exactly one pound in weight and measures 9.8 by 6.8 by 0.2 inches. On the bottom, there are two speakers, a Lightning port, and a conventional home button with Touch ID. The Air has both a physical SIM card slot and an eSIM. You can sign up for plans with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and other roaming carriers using the eSIM; with Verizon or any other provider, you can use a physical SIM. All the major business apps, including Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office, are available in versions of iOS 12.2, which powers the Apple iPad Air.
