Apple iPad Air 4 2020 Tablet

The sleek and stylish design of the iPad Air 4 is almost similar to the iPad Pro except for some minor changes. It comes in Green, Silver, Space Gray, Rose Gold and blue colour options which set it apart from the crowd of old looking tablets.

On the top edge, the Touch ID fingerprint scanner is there, hidden in the lock button. However, there is no Face ID unlocking so that might be an issue for some. On the right side, volume rocker keys and a magnetic connector to charge the Apple Pencil stylus.

There are four speaker grills, two each at the top and bottom which offer a very good quality of sound output on the tablet. Now the very interesting next design feature is that Apple has given a USB Type-C charging port instead of Lightning Port, a step in a good direction.

The 10.9 inches display offered by Apple here is a Liquid Retina IPS one with a resolution of 2360x1640 pixels. The colour production of the display is very good so you will enjoy all the TV shows and movies you like on this one.

The display brightness maxes at 500 nits which is more than enough for a good viewing experience. It just falls only a 100 nits behind the premium iPad Pro model. The 60Hz refresh rate is smooth and silky. However, if you are an iPad Pro user which has a 120Hz refresh rate then its screen response might prove to be a small concern for you.

This iPad Air model is powered by Apple's latest A14 Bionic chipset which even beats the new Pro model which runs on the previous generation A13 chipset. So, you don't need to worry about any lags as it gets things done very quickly.

The device comes with two storage variants, 64GB and 256Gb models. Also, there is no option to expand the memory via MicroSD support here, so this might be an issue for heavy users who require more space on their tablet.  Coming to the operating system, it runs on the iPadOS 14 out of the box which is very clean and easy to operate. So, no issues with that.

The rear-facing camera of the iPad Air 4 is a 12MP shooter with an f/1.8 shooter. There is no LED flashlight with it. Overall, it gives you crisp quality shots both indoors as well as outdoors. As video conferencing and selfies have become very important for us today, there is a 7MP front camera offered to serve this purpose. Its performance is also satisfactory but still, Apple can improve on its front camera as Android competitors offer much better cameras. If you are a regular user who wants to do day-to-day work and click photos for social media profiles, the cameras are good enough.

All thanks to this Apple iPad Air 4, you won't need to buy the comparatively expensive Pro models to use Apple Pencil and Magic keyboard. The 2nd generation Apple pencil can be used on the device to operate it or any other purpose and it charges on the magnetic connector on the right edge. The magic keyboard is also a big utility. Once you connect it with the connectors offered on the back panel, you are ready to go and get all your important work done with it.

The battery of the iPad Air 4 lasts up to 10 hours which is a very decent tablet battery life. So, with standard video playback and Wi-Fi usage, you will find it satisfactory. However, if you choose LTE ready version then the battery drains slightly faster as mobile networks use more power than Wi-Fi.

Apple has given a 20W fast charger in the box which is pretty nice as it doesn't offer chargers in the boxes with iPhone 12 range. The charger is quick to charge the device and even better than the one of iPad Air 3.
