Motorola Moto E40

The Motorola Moto E40 comes with a slightly above average set of SoC under its hood to power your daily tasks. The Unisoc T700 powers the Motorola Moto E40 and is specifically designed to be used on Motorola Phones. It can handle a lot of task with ease and its eight cores combine seamlessly to offer smooth parallel processing. The octa-core Unisoc T700 on the Motorola Moto E40 is paired up with 4 GB of RAM which does little to increase the processing speed, though apps open quickly and there is no visible stuttering. The Unisoc T700 promises 38% faster CPU performance but it is not that efficient in handling AAA games. For the occasional gamers though, the Motorola Moto E40 shall be more than enough. With a top clock speed of 1.8 GHz, the Motorola Moto E40 ensures that your daily usages of the phone are lag free and smooth. The SoC and RAM are paired with Mali G52 GPU for graphics processing. The Motorola Moto E40 runs on Android 11 right out of the box.

The Motorola Moto E40 has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen that is downgraded only to provide a better refresh rate. The LCD screen sports a good resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels per inch and has a pixel density of 270 pixels per inch. The IPS LCD panel has a low pixel density but makes up for it with Max Vision HD+ Display technology that provides appropriate contrast and colouration. The Motorola Moto E40 comes with an aspect size of 20:9 with a body to screen ration being 81.6%. A huge let down in terms of the display is the absence of any OTT content certification. But on the other hand, a very good thing about the display is its 90 Hz refresh rate that allows for faster frame views and prevent visible stuttering or lags.

This is one section where the Motorola Moto E40 really impresses. It comes with a very durable 5000 mAh battery. In its price segment a 5000 mAh battery is an average but what makes this battery pack special is its durability. The makers at Motorola promise that the Motorola Moto E40 will deliver at least 40 hours of battery life. The only drawback that the battery pack has is the charging option that it comes with. In their drive to provide a durable battery the makers of the Motorola Moto E40 have provided just a 10W fast charging option that is frankly a very low option considering the huge 5000 mAh that the Motorola Moto E40 comes with.

The camera setup of the Motorola Moto E40 is perhaps the best thing about it.  The rear of the Motorola Moto E40 sports a 48 MP main snapper accompanied by a 2 MP Macro lens and the 2 MP depth lens. The main snapper uses PDAF technology and has an aperture of f/2.0 that allows it to deliver a fairly detailed picture. Given a fair amount of light, the triple camera setup can click pictures that have crisp colours and capture brilliant details. The camera setup also has HDR, panorama and portrait modes. The front has a main snapper of 8 MP that has aperture of f/2.0. Nevertheless, the front camera is not as impressive as the rear camera setup. One good thing about the front camera is that it can capture videos that are 1080p in definition at frame rate of 30 fps.

The Motorola Moto E40 has a body that is clearly designed to keep the cost of the phone in check. Considering it has only a 10W fast charging, the design has been kept very mundane without much cooling for the battery. The Motorola Moto E40 comes with a glass front, a plastic frame and a plastic body. The rear has a pattern on it that is very monotonous and not lively enough to stand out. The camera module is not given a separate housing but the existing one has the pattern around the three camera lenses. The phone has the dimensions of 165.1 x 75.7 x 9.1 mm and a weight of 198g along with a dedicated button to activate Google Assistant.
