Airtel Launches 5G Plus Services In India: See All Details Here

After announcing the rollout of the 5G services in eight cities, Airtel has launched 5G Plus services starting on October 6th, 2022. Notably, India’s second-largest telecom operator Airtel is providing its 5G services in  Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Varanasi.

“Customers who have 5G smartphones will enjoy the high-speed Airtel 5G Plus on their existing data plans until the rollout is more widespread,” the company said.  The telecom company said that it will continue to roll out its 5G services in all cities in a phased manner. 

In addition, the telecom giant states that by the end of this year its 5G Plus services will be available in all metro cities in the country.  Besides, the company said that it will deploy its 5G services in all cities by March 2024.

“Our solution will therefore work on any 5G handset and the existing SIM that customers have. Our obsession with customer experience is now embellished with a 5G solution that is kinder to the environment, said Gopal Vittal, Managing Director & CEO, of Bharti Airtel. “Airtel 5G Plus is all set to redefine the way people communicate, live, work, connect and play for years to come,” Vittal added.

Airtel 5G Plus Service: Details

According to Airtel, 5G Plus offers three advantages for customers as it offers to speed up to 20 to 30 times higher than its existing 4G services. The company also highlighted that the 5G Plus network will be ‘kinder to the environment with its special power reduction solution’ that will provide high-end gaming, and video streaming, and it can upload videos along with photos.

Moreover, the second largest telecom operator in India mentioned on its official website said that 5G Plus will increase the available bandwidth, which will enable more devices to connect such as smart home solutions, location trackers, smart appliances, smart watches, and more.

Apart from Airtel 5G Plus services, Reliance Jio started a beta trial in Varanasi, Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata. However, these services are based on invitation bases and the company said that it will provide speed up to 1 Gbps to all compatible devices.
