Asus ROG Phone 6 TENAA Certification Reveals Some Interesting Facts

The Asus ROG Phone 6 has been spotted at the Chinese mobile regulatory TENAA with AI2201_B the model number. Previously, this handset cleared 3C mobile certification in China with the same model number. Going by the TENAA listing, it is clear Asus is setting new standards in the premium smartphone league.

The Asus TENAA listing mentions a humongous 6.78-inch display panel. The display type would be AMOLED. While the screen refresh rate is not listed, a 165Hz refresh rate is tipped. With this the ROG Phone 6 will be one of the first flagship Android phones in the market to deliver such a high display refresh rate.

The Asus ROG Phone’s front panel is said to accommodate a 12MP camera for selfies and video chats. The gaming phone’s back panel will be packed with a 64MP main camera as per the TENAA listing. The remaining camera hardware is not revealed as of now. But we should get the details in the coming days.

The TENAA listing also confirms the upcoming ROG 6 series chipset details. According to the listing, the ROG Phone 6 will be driven by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Considering no other major smartphone OEM has announced their upcoming flagship with the same premium Qualcomm chipset before July 5, it would be safe to assume the ROG Phone 6 will be the world’s first SD 8+ Gen 1 SoC-powered phone.

Furthermore, the TENAA listing also suggests the Asus ROG Phone 6 will arrive with a whopping 18GB RAM capacity. This information along with the above details corroborates with the recent leaks. An in-display fingerprint scanner is expected to handle the privacy aspects. Lastly, the TENAA listing reveals 2,925 mAh dual-cell battery unit (rated capacity). The total value of the battery could likely be 6,000 mAh.
