Reasons Behind The BGMI Ban Possibility

The cybersecurity division is worried about several factors. Some of them are listed below:

1. Illegal Entry Incident: An incident involving a foreign national named Seema Haider, who entered India to meet her lover she met through PUBG.

2. Data Misuse Concerns: There are fears that Krafton, a Chinese company, might misuse the data collected by the game. This includes concerns about surveillance and cyber attacks.

3. Data Storage Locations: BGMI’s data stored on servers in the US is also under scrutiny. The government alleges that this data might be shared with servers in China without proper authorization.

Potential Implications For India’s Security

The government sees these issues as potential threats to India’s security. Consequently, it has advised Krafton to remove the game from circulation. If Krafton complies, BGMI could be removed from both Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
