The short video space that was dominated by TikTok in the yesteryears is currently banned by the government and Instagram is aggressively pushing its short video platform, Reels. In this article, we will look into the new feature of Reels.

As we all know Instagram Reels is all the craze nowadays this is due to the absence of TikTok in India. Reels are the short video platform that Instagram launched to cater to the huge audience who viewed short videos daily.

The new feature that is being tested by Facebook allows a Reel creator to upload their Reels on Instagram and Facebook simultaneously.

When shared to Facebook the Reels clips would be visible in the Facebook News Feed and Facebook Watch. In the future, the probability of the main Facebook app getting its version of the Reels feature is very high.

Integrating Reels Into Facebook: The Newest Thrill Amongst Content Creators

This feature enables a Reel creator to share their curated content across both platforms and then your Reels will show up on the Facebook timeline of your Reels.

To share the Reels clips, the selected individuals can share them to the existing News Feed sharing options like Friends, Public, or a custom device.

The content creators have to “allow” both platforms to interact with each other. The 30-second long clips will be shown with their Instagram username, not their Facebook account.

Since this is a very revolutionary feature the company is testing this feature with selected individuals. Only a few celebrity users can choose to enable this feature as of right now.

Pooja Dhingra, Bong Guy, Awez Darbar, Ashish Chanchlani, Pankaj Bhadouria, and key public figures such as Suresh Raina, Sanjeev Kapoor, Harbhajan Singh are a few of the people who have gotten access to this feature.

In a recent press release, Facebook Inc. provided the media with a multitude of details on how a content creator/ celebrity could access this new feature.

If the selected individuals give the app the necessary permissions, then they can use the Reels option situated just above the Facebook Newsfeed.

When you use the camera to post updates, there is now an option to add those moments to a Reel clip, or you can also upload video clips from the camera roll.

There is an option to add video clips from the camera and gallery at the same time if one would prefer to do so.

A very compelling video can be created by using all the features of the Reels software like inspect and trim to edit multiple video clips at the same time.

All these editing tools are readily available to the user in the camera section. The creative tools reside on the right side of your camera screen that you can use to create your reel. These were all the details shared by Facebook executives in the press release.

AR Filters And Audio Effects: Some Cherry On The Cake!

There are multiple ways to add audio to your Reels clip. You can choose to embed songs from the extensive Facebook music library. You also have the option to record a Reel normally and use the audio that you have recorded.

Adding audio from the camera before capturing a clip or adding audio later after capturing a clip is also a viable option.

There is also a vast library of AR filters created by Facebook and other content creators on the platform, which you can freely use to make your Reels very creative.

The timer and countdown tools are very handy for a lot of content creators who show their talents through Reels.

You can set a timer to record a clip without using your hands, this makes it easy for dancers to record their sequences.

The hassle of managing the shutter button is not a problem anymore if you use this feature. The speed of the clips can be manipulated so that your audio and video are in sync.

Making slow-motion videos or an accelerated video are two things you can do with this incredible feature.

This update is a clear sign from Facebook about the seriousness they have for the Indian market. They want to develop the Reels platform as the next big thing that people use daily.

The exposure that content creators will gain from this move will be humongous and this, in turn, will attract more people to use the Reels feature. Facebook is being relentless and wants to completely take over the short video audience in India.
