Google Pixel 4a Gets Delisted From Google Store; Is It Discontinued?

(Last Updated On: February 1, 2022)

Google like other popular Android smartphone OEMs has been following the tradition of discontinuing older generation phones. This has been the case with the company’s popular Pixel smartphone lineup as well. The first and second-generation Pixel phones along with the Pixel 3 series have been dropped off the production bay. It seems that the Pixel 4a is the latest model to join this list.

No More Pixel 4a Going Forward

A new report via 9to5Google suggests that Google has officially discontinued the Pixel 4a from the market. The device was listed as ‘out of stock’ for a long at the Google Store in the U.S. After several months of unavailability, the company has finally delisted the Pixel 4a from its official online store in the U.S.

We can expect the brand to take the Pixel 4a off-shelves from the remaining global markets as well. However, how soon Google plans to do so can’t be said at the moment. That said, the device is not yet removed from the Indian stores. And if you are still interested, you can buy the Pixel 4a at around Rs. 31,999 via online retail stores in the country.

Nevertheless, the Pixel 4a has been one of the most popular Pixel series phones all across the globe including in India. High-end features, compact design, stock Android UI, and affordable price tag have been the prime factors for its success.

To recap, the Google Pixel 4a was announced in India back in August 2020 powered by the Snapdragon 732G processor. The device features up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB storage configuration. Note, this handset comes with standard 4G network support.

The Pixel 4a sports a compact 5.81-inch OLED display with a punch-hole selfie camera cutout. The display supports 1080 x 2340 pixels screen resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The Pixel 4a’s camera setup includes a single 12.2MP sensor at the rear with OIS.

The selfie snapper is an 8MP lens. It features a physical fingerprint scanner at the rear for security. The battery powering this handset is slightly smaller at 3,140 mAh. It supports 18W fast charging for quick refuels.
