Hyundai Motors will soon be bringing its first mid-tier electric SUV — the Creta EV. The South Korean auto giant has confirmed its plans to take the Creta EV to the production bay by the end of 2024 and aspires to break its covers globally by 2025. Here’s what the latest reports hints at:

Hyundai Creta EV Production And Availability Timeline

The Hyundai Creata EV’s production is confirmed to begin by the end of 2024. Hyundai itself has revealed the details for the Creta EV production in the country. As for its official launch, the same is anticipated to take place by 2025 in India as well as the global markets.

Further going by the recent reports, Hyundai will probably bringing the Creta EV before Maruti Suzuki evX in the country. Notably, the latter’s launch has been delayed due to multiple reasons with battery software development being one primary challenge.

The Creta EV will primarily be going up against the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVx and the Tata Curvv EV in addition to the MG’s current premium offering, i.e., the ZS EV. With this, we can expect the Creta EV to be priced somewhere within Rs. 25 lakh range. But the actual cost will only be disclosed post the launch.

Hyundai Creta EV Performance: What All We Know?

Hyundai Creta EV’s test mules have been snapped on several occasions and the design language seems almost identical to the ICE variant. Of course, there are EV specific elements including the re-designed grille, and more. Rumors are rife the Creta EV will be backed by a 45 kWh battery module.

For reference, its rival the MG ZS EV has a bigger 50.3 kWh battery pack and offers over 450 km range per charge. With the smaller battery pack, the range delivery could be slightly less on the Creta EV. But we can’t authenticate this information yet.
