Kia Carens MPV is getting a facelift and the updated version is arriving soon in India. But that’s not the only iteration of the Carnival that Kia plans to launch in India. The all-electric version of the Carens is also getting prepped up for a debut in the country. The rumor mill has managed to grab the leaked spy shots of the upcoming Kia Carens EV which is arriving as a potential rival to the BYD eMax 7.

Kia Carens EV Test Mule Images Leaks

Kia Carens EV is rumored to be due for 2025 launch in India. The speculations have started doing rounds soon after the spy shots of the upcoming Kia electric MPV started doing rounds online. The spy shots of the Carens EV indicates it will be based on the same platform as the Carens ICE version.

This means we will see almost similar design but with EV-specific elements. The closed-off grille upfront is one of the design alterations between the Carens EV and the Carens ICE model. The bumpers both rear and upfront are also said to get an overhaul on the Carens EV. The missing exhaust pipe in the leaked test mule images confirms the fact that it is the electric version of the Carens.

Kia Carens EV: Rivals And Expected Launch In India

With the Carens EV’s testing commencing, it’s launch is definitely on the cards. The timeline hinted is by 2025. But we must wait for some official announcement. That said, the Carens EV will be heating up the e-MPV space post its launch and will go up against the BYD eMax which is launching on October 8 in India and will be available for deliveries starting March 2025.
