At the Auto Expo 2023, Kia unveiled its most premium electric SUVs till date — the Kia EV9. Soon after, this premium e-SUV marked its debut in the international markets. All this while, Kia had not given any insight that could hint the EV9’s India launch. However, the brand kept testing this e-SUV to test its performance on the Indian roads. Well, it seems like the wait is over. Kia has announced the official launch date for the EV9 in India which is scheduled for October. All the details are mentioned below:

Kia EV 9 India Launch Date, Expected Pricing
Kia is all set to bring the EV9 on October 3 in India. The most premium electric SUV from the company will be debuting alongside the Carnival MPV. Kia is expected to announce the exact prices of both EV9 and Carnival MPV during the event on the aforementioned date. But it’s already being said the EV9 will be the most expensive electric vehicle from Kia in the Indian market.
It is likely to take on the BMW iX series with a price range hovering around Rs. 1 crore. This indeed will make it one of the most expensive e-SUV’s in the country loaded with modern amenities and features. Nevertheless, the Kia EV9 is also expected to be imported via the CBU route. This could be one of the prominent factors for the increased costs.

Kia EV9 Powertrain And Features
Kia EV9 follows the footprints of the latest Kia EV6 and the Kia EV3 variants in terms of design. The e-SUV boasts an aggressive boxy design and is based on the born-electric e-GMP platform. The Kia EV9 is available with dual motor AWD (All wheel drive) and a single motor RWD (Rear wheel drive) option. Both models use the same 99.8 kWh battery pack, but have different power delivery metrics. The EV9 RWD variant produces 230 PS power and 350 Nm torque.
The AWD variant of the EV9 churns out 383 PS power and 350 Nm torque. As for the range, the EV9 can reach up to 562 km on a full charge. Top speed of the base model will be 183 kmph and the high-end model will be 200 kmph.
