EV fire accidents are nothing new and almost every other month there is one or other incident reported involving an electric two or four wheeler going up in flames. But this time not just one or two but an entire showroom went ablaze in Bengaluru. And the massive scale of this fire accident also claimed one life which makes us rethink of the safety with electric vehicles. Bengaluru MY EV Store Fire Accident
The tragic fire accident which is being reported from Bengaluru took place at MY EV Store. According to the reports, the cause for the fire accident is short circuit in one of the electric scooters. The massive intensity of the fire even led to death of one of the showroom’s employee.
The MY EV Store located at Dr. Rajkumar Road, near Nuring Junction in Bengaluru went up in flames at around 5.30 PM. Around six staff members are said to be present when the accident took place. Unfortunately, a 20-year old employee who is identified as Priya got trapped inside the showroom and couldn’t escape, leading to her death. The remaining staff were able to escape the blazing showroom.
Not just the entire showroom, this fire accident also damaged over 45 electric scooters that were inside the premises. Thankfully fire fighters were prompt in responding to the accident and rushed to the rescue.

How Did The Authorities Respond?
As mentioned, fire rescuers swiftly acted on the situation and got control of the fire. However, the owner and manager of the MY EV Store were booked under Section 106 for death of a person by negligent act. The victim’s brother had filed a police complaint following which Punith Gowda (store owner) and Yuvaraju (store manager) were arrested and produced in front of the court.
