MG Motors is working on another new EV for the Indian market. After filing patent for the Cloud EV, MG has now filed design trademark for a compact electric hatchback. The upcoming EV whose design has been patented by MG in India is the Wuling BinguoEV. This electric hatchback is also expected to debut as a part of the MG Motor and JSW joint venture in the country. MG Wuling BinguoEV Design Patent Leaks: How Dows It Look?

The MG Wuling BinguoEV design patent reveals the compact and curvy design of the next MG electric car. The design language overall is said to be familiar to that of the the newly launched Fiat 500. The curvy bonnet and a small blanked-off grille beneath it combined with X-shaped LED headlamps completes the front profile design. Another key design highlight of the Wuling BinguoEV is the water-splash wheel caps that are gripping 15-inch wheels.

The MG Wuling BinguoEV will feature dual-tone floating roof design and an X-shaped LED rear tail lamps as well. The compact electric hatcback will measure 3,950 mm x 1,708 mm x 1,580 mm (length x width x height) and will have 2,560 mm of wheelbase. It will offer up to 790 L boot space. It is worth noting that these additional details are available since the Wuling BinguoEV is already launched internationally.

The Wuling Binguo EV has been launched in triple battery options in Indonesia. The same powertrain can be introduced in the Indian market too. The base Wuling BinguoEV has a 17.3 kWh battery, while the mid-variant gets a 31.9 kWh battery pack. The top model features a 37.9 kWh battery pack. The low-end BinguoEV variant can produce 41 bhp of power and up to 333 km range per charge. The high-end model can deliver 68 bhp of motor power and up to 410 km range on a full charge. The EV ships with a standard 7 kW charger in Indonesia and will probably use the same setup in the India too.
