Realme Mobiles is going all guns blazing in the Indian market to stay ahead of its competition. Just a few months ago, in March 2021, the company launched the new Realme 8 series which comprises the Realme 8 and the Realme 8 Pro. It was followed by the launch of the all-new Realme 8 5G in April 2021 which was priced from Rs. 14,999. But now, the Realme 8 5G has become the cheapest 5G smartphone in India as the company has launched a new variant of this smartphone. Here we have for you all the details about it.

The Realme 8 5G was launched in India last month in two variants – 4GB RAM + 128GB Internal Storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB Internal Storage. Upon launch, the former was the base variant and it was priced at Rs. 14,999 while the latter was priced at Rs. 16,999. But now, to stay ahead of its rivals and to offer the customers a more affordable 5G device, the company has launched a new base variant of the same. The new base variant of the Realme 8 5G sports 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage. It has been priced at just Rs. 13,999, making it the cheapest 5G smartphone in India (as of May 2021).

Realme 8 5G – Key Specifications
The new Realme 8 5G is decently loaded with features. It houses a 6.5-inch FHD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 1080 x 2400 pixels. Also, it gets a 90 Hz refresh rate system. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 700 chipset (MT6833). This is an Octa-core processor which is built on a 7 Nm architecture and supports 5G mobile networks. The Realme 8 5G runs Realme UI 2.0 on top of Android 11. It packs in a massive 5000mAh battery, supports 18W fast charging and gets an 18W charger in the box.
Realme 8 5G – Camera Features and Rivals
The new Realme 8 5G features a triple camera set-up at the rear. There is a 48MP primary shooter from Samsung along with a 2MP monochrome sensor and a 2MP tertiary sensor. At the front, it gets a 16MP camera for selfies and videos. The new Realme 8 5G doesn’t have any direct rivals in India. But, indirectly it rivals the company’s own Realme 8, Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S, Redmi Note 10 Pro, and Oppo A74 5G, etc.
