Samsung officially launched the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ at the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 17, 2024. Confirming prior leaks and rumors, these flagship smartphones introduce the ‘Galaxy AI,’ integrating a range of built-in smart AI features such as Live Translate, Note Assist, and Circle to Search. Distinguishing themselves in terms of memory, the Galaxy S24 comes with 8GB of RAM, while the higher-tier Galaxy S24+ offers 12GB of RAM. It sports an aluminum armor frame. Maintaining the tradition of their predecessors, both models are equipped with IP68-rated dust- and water-resistant build.

Powering the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy in specific regions, while the Indian variants house the Exynos 2400 SoC. The standard model is equipped with 8GB of RAM, whereas the Plus variant offers a higher 12GB RAM option.

The Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ feature a 50MP wide camera, an 85-degree field of view, and OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field-of-view, and a 10MP telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom. On the front, both models sport a 12MP selfie sensor with an 80-degree field-of-view.

Conversely, the Galaxy S24+ houses a larger 4,900mAh battery with 45W wired charging support, Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 providing 15W charging speeds, and Wireless PowerShare for reverse wireless charging.

AI Features
The introduction of the Galaxy S24 series signifies Samsung’s entry into the integration of advancing AI techniques into its smartphones. These devices showcase numerous Galaxy AI features designed to enhance communication. Among them, the Live Translate functionality facilitates two-way real-time voice and text translations during phone calls within the native Phone app. Additionally, a new Chat Assist feature functions as an online chatbot akin to ChatGPT. Furthermore, Android Auto has been upgraded to automatically summarize incoming messages and propose pertinent replies and actions when used in a car setting.
